Southern Gateway Parking Garage, Lewiston Maine

The Park Street Parking Gararge, Lewiston, ME
The garage is steel framed, utilizing both moment and braced frames. It has room for over 385 cars, and was designed to be expanded. The Architect on the Project was Platz Associates of Auburn, Maine. This project was featured in the AISC publication, Modern Steel Construction, and was considered by AISC as a national award winner for creative design utilizing steel.


Piper Shores, Scarborough, ME
SEI provided complete structural design services for this 276,000 sq. ft. assisted living facility, with a building cost of over $25 million. The facility is located with direct exposure to the Atlantic Ocean.


Chestnut Street Parking Garage, Lewiston, ME
This garage has 4 levels and parking for 400 cars. It is framed with steel.

Portland Harbor Hotel
This 4-story hotel was constructed on top of an existing 3-story parking garage. SEI provided all structural design for the steel framed hotel, and worked closely with the original parking garage consultant to determine the reserve capacity of the concrete framed garage.

Gullcrest
SEI provided all structural engineering for this unique and challenging building. A concrete façade cantilevers out of the ground to provide dramatic eyebrow windows as well as a curved and cantilevered canopy roof. Behind the façade is a steel framed high bay service area, as well as office space.

Newbury Court
Newbury Court is an assisted living facility located in Concord, Massachusetts. It contains two levels below ground for parking, and eight levels above. A two-way steel moment frame was used as the primary super-structure. The frame contains 26 foot long cantilevered floors at every level above ground where the building abutts an existing building. The cantilevers allowed an emergency generator and areaway to remain.
 


 

Bath Savings Institution
Design of a 2-story elevated parking garage with a third story above serving as an office floor level. Design required a pedestrian bridge between the new and an existing building. 17 structural drawings.

Edward Little High School
Provided structural design for a 2-story, 10,000 square foot addition.

Yarmouth Village Court
Design of a new 3-story out-patient care facility. 11 drawings.

LL Bean
Evaluation and structural upgrade design to the entire original retail store. Structural design of a new vaulted roof section in the retail store.

Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland, ME
Cumberland County Civic Center Roof is Reinforced

Shelley Engineering discovered a major structural deficiency in the roof trusses of this large clear span arena located in Portland, Maine. After the discovery, SEI was hired with LeMessiuer Consultants to inspect the entire roof structure and to design required upgrades to meet current code. The upgrade added 54 tons of steel to the roof structure.
